Five Natural Health Benefits of CBD Oil

Cannabidiol, or CBD oil, is a rare type of marijuana compound that has been shown to effectively relieve nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy. It is also believed to be an effective cancer fighter, possibly through its mechanism of action on the tumor cells. In fact, it has performed so well that a clinical trial involving sixty-two people with lung cancer was started the same year it was discovered. Since then, it has shown promise in treating a number of ailments. Although there is still much more research to be done on CBD, here are some of the conditions it has been shown to be beneficial in treating:

- nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy: One study involving two women who each had to undergo chemotherapy for breast cancer found that CBD significantly decreased the nausea they experienced during the treatment period. This was followed by subsequent studies in which patients using CBD reported feeling more full after eating meals than those who did not use CBD oil. There have also been placebo-controlled trials that found CBD 2000mg  oil to be as effective at reducing nausea and vomiting as chemotherapy. These studies are currently being conducted as additional research is conducted on CBD and its potential benefits.

- Post-traumatic stress disorder: People suffering from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) have demonstrated a reduction in their anxiety and depression symptoms when they took a 600mg CBD oil. Two separate studies published in Clinical Psychological Review show that these results are not random because patients who had higher than normal CBD levels in their blood plasma also showed reduced anxiety and depression. The first of these trials was a placebo-controlled trial that involved 120 people with PTSD. The participants were randomly assigned to two capsules per day. One group received CBD oil and the other did not; the result of this study is still being debated by the FDA.

- Epilepsy: Some recent studies have shown that CBD may be useful in the treatment of epilepsy. Two separate experiments using CBD oil showed positive results in people with epileptic symptoms. One of these experiments tested the idea that CBD may reduce seizures. The second experiment gave patients with epilepsy and healthy participants a placebo, then monitored their behavior and EEG activity. Both groups had significantly lower seizure symptoms after taking CBD.

- Pain Relief for Health Benefits: Many medical researchers are investigating the use of CBD oil in the treatment of chronic pain. This is because CBD is believed to work through its natural cannabidiol content on pain receptors in the brain. Two clinical trials published in Nature Neuroscience found that CBD may provide a beneficial pain relief for people with rheumatoid arthritis, and also for post-traumatic stress disorder patients. However, these studies suggest only that CBD can reduce pain without providing health benefits.
